X-Yachts Xp 44 “BARRACUDA” – 2021 Performance Sailing Yacht
X-Yachts Xp 44 “BARRACUDA”, delivered in 2021, combines the performance-oriented design of the Xp range with a comfortable three-cabin interior and an extensive list of cruising and sailing equipment.
Built by X-Yachts A/S in Denmark, she has an overall hull length of 13.29 m, a maximum beam of 4.07 m and is fitted with the deep T-keel, giving a draft of 2.65 m. Light displacement is approximately 8,650 kg, while the deep-keel ballast is approximately 3,660 kg. The yacht is certified for CE Design Category A – Ocean.
The yacht has a distinctive Black Grey RAL 7021 hull, black waterlines and black antifouling, with Light Grey RAL 7035 side decks. Factory bottom treatment consisted of three sprayed layers of epoxy primer followed by two layers of antifouling. The cockpit is finished with Flexiteek and includes a teak cockpit table, electric halyard winch, folding midship mooring cleats and cockpit lighting.
Sailing and deck equipment
BARRACUDA was specified with the deep-keel performance configuration and a comprehensive sail-handling package. Equipment includes an asymmetric spinnaker system, 10:1 inhauler system, Grand Prix racing spinnaker barber-haul system, additional fractional spinnaker halyard and a carbon bowsprit.
Lazy jacks, combined deck/steaming light and a three-colour LED masthead light are also fitted. Weather protection includes a grey sprayhood and cockpit tent together with an aft bimini.
The Xp 44 sail plan provides approximately 65.8 m² mainsail area and 48.5 m² for the 106% genoa, with provision for a 175 m² masthead spinnaker, 160 m² fractional spinnaker, 175 m² masthead asymmetric and 131 m² Code 0.
Accommodation
The yacht features the three-cabin layout, with the owner's cabin forward and two aft cabins.
The interior was ordered with a wooden galley, Black Corian worktop, fixed aft-facing chart table, veneered furniture details and imitation teak floorboards. Both aft cabins are fitted with additional freeboard-hung sea berths, while the owner's cabin has an upgraded spring mattress.
The galley includes a 65-litre front-opening refrigerator and 230 V microwave. Comfort equipment includes an Eberspächer D5 heating system with five outlets, air conditioning for the saloon and owner's accommodation and two Jabsco electric toilets.
Fresh-water capacity is approximately 350 litres, diesel capacity 200 litres, hot-water capacity 30 litres and holding-tank capacity 55 litres.
Navigation and technical equipment
The yacht carries a comprehensive B&G electronics package including B&G Triton 2 instruments, NAC3 autopilot, NAIS 500B AIS transceiver, B&G V90 VHF and Zeus3 9-inch navigation displays. The supplied onboard equipment inventory also lists an echo sounder and two portable SIMRAD HH36 waterproof VHF/GPS units.
A retractable bow thruster provides additional manoeuvrability when docking. Electrical equipment includes a Combimaster 12/2000-60 charger/inverter, additional service battery, multiple 230 V sockets and USB charging points.
Safety equipment listed for BARRACUDA includes automatic lifejackets, two Viking six-person liferafts, Ocean Signal EPIRB, portable VHF radios, fire extinguishers, radar reflectors and an extensive distress-signal inventory. Ground tackle includes an Ultra 20 kg anchor together with a second 15 kg anchor.
